Stafford, VA—At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30th, units with Stafford County Fire and Rescue (SCFR) responded for a reported structure fire in the 00 block of Coventry Court in southern Stafford County. First arriving units marked on scene approximately 5 minutes later and reported smoke coming from the front and rear of a middle of the row townhouse. Crews made entry and found fire on the first floor of the residence. The fire was marked under control approximately five minutes after arrival.
Two adults and three children were displaced as a result of the fire. None reported injuries however a dog did not make it out of the fire. Smoke alarms were not found to be sounding in the home. The occupants are displaced from the home as a result of the fire and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
The fire is under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office. SCFR units were assisted on scene by the Fredericksburg Fire Department.
At 2:25p.m., additional SCFR units responded for a reported large brush fire in multiple locations in the area of White Pine Circle and Portugal Drive. First arriving units found large amount of smoke and brush burning behind an apartment building on White Pine Circle, which backs up to Portugal Drive. An additional, smaller fire was reported and extinguished behind another apartment building further down White Pine Circle. Crews worked quickly to extinguish and contain the fire. Additional resources and manpower were requested from Quantico and Prince William County to assist.
The fire remains under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office.
