Units with Stafford County Fire and Rescue (SCFR) responded for a reported structure fire just after 6 p.m. on Friday, August 6th in the 00 block of Hoot Owl Road in the Widewater area. First arriving units arrived on scene approximately six minutes after dispatch and found a single-story garage fully involved in fire. Units worked to extinguish the fire and determined multiple vehicles and a camper were also involved in the fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. Due to the location of the fire, rural water supply tactics were used.
There were no occupants home at the time of the fire and no reported injuries. SCFR crews were assisted on scene by Quantico Fire and Emergency Services.
The Stafford County Fire Marshal's Office determined the fire to be accidental and electrical in nature. The building is considered a total loss.
